Research and Documentation

 

According to its mission, UPVHA addresses to the health concerns of the vulnerable segments of the population - dalits, tribals, migrants, bonded labour, child labour and children. Towards this end it has carried out a number of research studies:

  • State of Uttar Pradesh Health
  • Morbidity and malnutrition study in Bundelkhand region by using PRA
  • Morbidity and mortality among women and children in Bundelkhand area
  • Situation of children in schools

The information coming out through research and documentation is disseminated through the Information and Documentation Centre. This centre acts as a reference centre for national and international organisations. UPVHA provides health, development and family welfare related information to

  • UPVHA staff for their programmes
  • Researchers
  • Journalists and media persons
  • Trainers and health workers
  • Community based organisations to support their activities
  • Health and development workers for their continuing education

The services provided by the centre include

  • Current awareness services to staff, members and visiotros to UPVHA
  • Reference, referral and reprograhpic services
  • Selective dissemination of information on health and developmental issues
  • Literature searches and compilation of information on various issues
  • Networking
  • Clearing houses
  • Establishing village level information centres
